Conningbrook Lakes Country Park, Ashford
Situated next to the renowned Julie Rose Stadium lies one of Ashford’s latest creations, Conningbrook Lakes Country Park. The site, originally a working quarry has been transformed in an ongoing project in partnership with the Brett Group, Ashford Borough Council and numorous nature and conservation groups into a haven for wildlife and nature as well as providing a family orientated environment offering a variety of activities.
With views across the lakes to the North Downs, it is a gateway for both walkers and cyclists to explore the Stour Valley via a network of country tracks.
The lakes and park are open seven days a week, from early morning to dusk and access is free. The activities available, such as sailing, are operated by specialist clubs and associations.
Through sensitive restoration a beautiful environment has been created for Ashford’s residents and visitors to make the most of and only enhances the towns ever growing appeal as a great place to live, work and enjoy.
